Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of man?

Or, more appropriately in this case, what Lego lurks in the nose of Sam.

Saturday, Kevan noticed Sam playing with a few small legos from the set Jake was using to assemble some starwarsspaceamazingzoomingflyingthing and then a few moments later, couldn't see them anywhere but did see Sam messing with his nose. So after two days of trying to get it out on our own (have we mentioned recently how strong Sam is?), we took him into the doctor's office. They couldn't get at it either, so off to the emergency room we went. We waited for just over three hours (and Kevan mentioned that he felt a little cheated, what with it not being anything like the ERs he's seen on tv--no sex, drama, or intrigue! Boo!), and finally the doctor was able to extract (it took 4 people to hold him down and what Kevan called "the coolest little tool ever" to get it out) these two little dealies (don't ask me what they are; they are little and kid-flavored, therefore they are "little dealies." You Lego purists can fill me in later.):

Hungry some, Kev?

For dinner tonight we had pancakes. We're classy like that. When I was dishing everyone up, I asked them how many they wanted. Kevan answered, "One. One whole stack." So I gave him what he asked for. The kids didn't think he was really going to eat it. It's like they've never met him or something.

Behold:

Not like you're wondering or anything, but yes, he ate every single bite.

This shouldn't be funny

Yet 'n' still, I'm laughing.

Our Li'l Guitar Heroes

Kevan took the kids to Aunt Feef and Uncle Daven's house last weekend while Sam and I were in Utah, and they had a rockin' good time. Get it? Get it? "Rockin'?" Ah...I slay me...

P.S. I know I'm not funny; I just like to think I am. You don't need to tell me. Leave me to my delusions ;)

Huzzah!

On the 28th, Kevan graduated from DLI! It was the greatest graduation I've ever been to. Mostly because it was only 40 minutes long. And there were cookies. Oh yeah, and because it marked the culmination of the most painful (his term for it) schooling Kevan's ever done. That was good, too.

Kevan and the Kidlets:

The first day of class, the teachers assigned each student an Arabic name. Kevan's was Kamal. This is Kamal and Sharif (we hear he don't like it) aka Shon, the other Marine in his class/his partner in crime:

To sum up: YAY!
